Printing and Direct Mail

Printing and direct mail can have a huge impact on your response rate.  Several variables come into consideration which can be the difference between success and failure.  You are doing an EDDM campaign for one reason, to increase business.

With your EDDM Campaign, the small decisions you make will determine your results.  Here are a few tips to guide you with the design and printing of your marketing piece.

  1. Think about your audience.  What is most important to this demographic?  The Prepared Mail EDDM program is great because you don’t have to purchase lists and demographic information has a tendency to be consistent throughout neighborhoods.  Know the audience you are going for.
  2. Make it personal.   The more you can appeal to your target demographic on a personal level, the higher of a success rate you will achieve.  This can be done by putting the name of the town or nearest city.
  3. Realize your marketing piece only gets a glance.  Make it stand out through the use of color and design.  Make it easy to understand the offer.  Have the call to action across multiple platforms like websites, telephone, email, etc.
  4. The size of your marketing piece.  Studies have shown the larger the marketing piece, the better it does.  It is a very simple concept, larger pieces get more attention.
  5. Images.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  Use images to help convey messages in an easily understood format.
  6. Printing.  Use a printer that is familiar with EDDM, like www.preparedmail.com.  They only work on EDDM, it’s all they know, it’s what they are good at.
  7. Make your piece unusual.  Make it stand out in the crowd of the mailbox.  Accomplish this with graphics, design and content.  The headline on the outside of your mail piece has to be compelling.  Look at some of the direct mail you receive.  What catches your attention?  What made you take a second glance?  Incorporate these observances into your mailing piece.

Everything you need, from design to distribution is under one roof.  With Preparedmail and the USPS EDDM program, we make it easy to increase your business.
